Speaker:

Your speaker is Elisa Pappalardo. Elisa is a Publisher at IOP Publishing, where she is helping to develop the Optics portfolio and managing the Materials for Quantum technology journal. Originally from Italy, Elisa holds a Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of Catania and University of Florida, where her research focused on data analytics for biomedical problems. After completing her postdoctoral studies at Johns Hopkins University, USA, and the University of Oxford, UK, Elisa decided to pursue her interest for academic publishing and joined John Wiley and Sons as a production editor in 2015, then moving into an editorial role. Since joining IOP Publishing, Elisa has helped shaping her portfolio by further developing the editorial boards and defining a long-term development strategy for her journals. She is very passionate about scientific and society publishing, and particularly interested in open access publications.
